Event Title:
Global Health and Impact Investment: Triple I's Collaborative Path Forward

On November 10, 2025, Impact Investment Initiative (Triple I) for Global Health hosted an event in Tokyo. Under the theme "Global Health × Impact Investment: Triple I's Collaborative Path Forward", this event brought together over 120 participants, both in-person and online, including representatives from international organizations, private companies, investors, venture capital firms, NGOs, and government agencies. It served as a platform to share two years of Triple I achievements while discussing new opportunities for collaboration and the future of impact investment in global health.

Event Highlights:

1. Opening Remarks and Keynote Speech

The event opened with welcome remarks by Mr. Shinji Wakayama, Parliamentary Vice-Minister of Cabinet Office, who expressed appreciation to the partners that have supported Triple I's journey--from its launch with 37 partner organizations to more than 117 today--and emphasized the growing importance of fostering collaboration among various sectors to tackle complex global challenges, including those in global health.

This was followed by a keynote speech from Mr. Ken Shibusawa, Co-Chair of Triple I for Global Health, who provided an overview of Triple I's achievements over the past two years, structured around its three core pillars. He highlighted key accomplishments, including the organization of events worldwide, the publication of the "Global Health Impact Measurement and Management (IMM) Practitioner Guide," and the release of the IMM Recommendations. The keynote also outlined plans to further accelerate the mobilization of private capital by expanding collaboration with a broader range of countries and regions.

2. Panel Session 1 - Collaborative Impact: Lessons from Triple I's Leading Partners 

The first panel session, moderated by Ms. Maki Robinson, Senior Advisor, UNICEF Tokyo Office, brought together prominent leaders from Mizuho Financial Group, Shionogi & Co., Ltd., SORA Technology, and United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA). Panelists shared examples illustrating how public-private partnerships and innovation are driving impact in global health. The session reaffirmed Triple I's role not only as a financial mechanism but as a platform for cross-sector collaboration, where diverse stakeholders work together to co-create sustainable solutions to global challenges.

Following the first panel session, comments from the floor were shared. Ms. Ayano Kunimitsu, State Minister for Foreign Affairs, who acknowledged Triple I's steady growth as a Japan-led model for public-private partnership. Ms. Rio Tomonoh, Parliamentary Vice-Minister of the Environment / of Cabinet Office, also highlighted the importance of advancing Japan's global health strategy through a whole-of-government approach and expressed expectations for Triple I to further strengthen its role as a network connecting diverse stakeholders.

3. Panel Session 2 - Expectations for Further Promoting Impact Investment Through the Triple I Platform

The second panel session, moderated by Mr. Masataka Uo, GSG Impact Ambassador
featured speakers from CarbGeM, Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA)
, Verge HealthTech Fund, and World Health Organization (WHO). The discussion highlighted the Triple I platform could serve as a hub for building cross-sector trust and shared goals.

4. Closing Remarks

The event concluded with remarks by H.E. Hideo Suzuki, Ambassador for Global Health of Japan, who underscored the need for continued collaboration among governments, international organizations, and private investors to advance solutions to global health challenges. The importance of impact investment was also emphasized as being vital not only for improving health outcomes but for contributing to Japan's broader growth and economic security strategies.
