Triple I for GH issued Recommendations for policymakers at its side event in Davos

On January 21st, 2025, Impact Investment Initiative (Triple I) for Global Health hosted a hybrid side event "New Financing for Global Health: How Governments, Global institutions and Businesses can Expand Impact Investment" in Davos, Switzerland, alongside the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting 2025. The event brought together over 100 participants to explore actions for the future in order to advance impact investment in global health, especially in LMICs.

The event featured a series of insightful sessions, including opening remarks, presentations on Triple I's progress and recommendations, and a dynamic panel discussion on the future of impact investment in global health. Recommendations for policymakers, "Unlocking Investment for Global Health Impact - What Governments & Global Institutions Can Do to Accelerate Impact Investment for Global Health," were also issued and stimulated thought-provoking discussions.

The video message from Ms. Rio Tomonoh, Parliamentary Vice Minister, Cabinet Office of Japan, opened the event, and Dr. Catharina Boeheme also delivered the opening remarks on behalf of Director-General, WHO, Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus. Both of our distinguished speakers set the stage for the discussions, emphasizing the importance of collaboration in advancing impact investment for global health.

The Triple I Progress Presentation by Mr. Ken Shibusawa, Triple I Co-Chair, followed the Opening Remarks, and highlighted initiative's significant growth in partners, from 37 to 102. He also emphasized the outreach, impact measurement and management (IMM), and policy incentivization pillars to mobilize new form of investment capital into global health. Triple I Co-Chair Mr. Steve Davis introduced the Recommendations for policymakers and sparked engaging discussions among participants. The panel discussion "The Way Forward" moderated by Dr. Ayoade Alakija, Triple I Co-Chair, featured experts from various sectors who shared their insights on the role of policy and actions for the future.

Triple I for GH continues committed to addressing global health issues through promoting impact investment. The insights and recommendations from this event are expected to guide future initiatives and foster continued collaboration among stakeholders.
