Triple I participated in the panel session at the Impact Forum held by Financial Services Agency of Japan
On May 14th in Tokyo, Triple I panel session titled "Global Health and Triple I" was held by Financial Services Agency of Japan with the support of Triple I as one of the main sessions in Impact Forum.
Dr. Ayode Alakija, Triple I Co-Chair, and Mr. Hideo Suzuki, Ambassador for Global Health of the Japanese government, attended the event as lead panelists. Panelists from Triple I partner joined the panel discussion, namely Ms. Nafisa Jiwani, Associate Vice President for Health, U.S. International Development Finance Corporation, Ms. Minamida Yasuko, Executive Director, Sustainability Department, Eisai Co., Ltd., and Mr. Miyamoto Yasutoshi, General Manager, Responsible Investment Strategy Office, Nippon Life.
During the session, panelists introduced the aim of Triple I for Global Health to promote the mobilization of private-sector funds, deepen understanding of its significance in promoting impact investments in global health, and encourage its dissemination. Panelists also mentioned the importance of gaining an understanding that global health initiatives are linked to business growth and generate a certain level of financial return was also mentioned, which would facilitate the participation of more financial institutions and companies all over the globe.
In another panel session titled "Future of Impact", Mr. Ken Shibusawa, Triple I Co-Chair, also attended as the chairman of the GSG advisory board of Japan and highlighted the importance of impact investment for the new form of capitalism.
