The Round Table for the Triple I for Global Health
The first Round Table for the "Impact Investment Initiative for Global Health (Triple I)" was successfully held online on December 7th, 2023. The event saw the participation of over 20 Partners from various regions such as Asia, Europe, and America, with a strong representation from LMICs. The event also featured significant contributions from Implementation Knowledge Partners, The Global Steering Group for Impact Investment (GSG) and Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
The event was organized in two sections. In the first section, the Co-Chairs, Dr. Ayoade Alakija, Mr. Steve Davis and Mr. Ken Shibusawa, along with Ambassador Ito of the Triple I Secretariat, presented the Roadmap of Triple I, outlining the initiative's goals and three pillars of activities: (1)Expanding visibility and engagement of Triple I and Impact Investing (2)Support the development of the impact investing field and (3)Promoting the roles of governments and DFIs in expanding impact investing. This was followed by a group discussion where Partners expressed their support for these pillars and shared their views on how to accelerate impact investment in Global Health. Key points raised include the necessity to define what constitutes success and developing a unified language to measure and articulate impact.
Fueled by the active involvement by all participants, the event achieved positive results. Challenges and opportunities for promoting impact investment in Global Health were identified and networks were formed to accelerate collective action. Triple I remains committed to engaging in continuous dialogue and working hand-in-hand with its Partners across the globe to push forward Universal Health Coverage and better health outcomes for all.
